Safely returned home again :) Kids had a good time with grandma and granddad, but they were less keen to meet two dogs hubby's sister brought with her... Strange, hairy, yapping creatures with cold, wet noses and tongues.... :) 

Flight experience was ok, except for long delays at the airport, due to wintry conditions in Europe. I have to say that infant related requirements are quite fuzzy with some airlines.... :s Requiring forward facing car seats is all fine, but most car seats for infants under two are rear facing, to prevent them from being launched during a collision... Some airlines require that each infant be accompanied by one adult when you try to book a flight online, but not when you book the same flight by telephone or through a travel agency... ^o)

I even spotted a mom breastfeeding her child during the flight, very discreet, and both at ease with it :) 

All things considered, we had a good time, no disasters, and some things learned for the future :) Now basking in front of a blazing hearth fire, while the kids are sleeping, and the house slowly warms to decent temperatures.... :)

Hope you all had a very merry Christmas out there! :) We're having a Dutch one this year, staying with my in-laws in Holland! :) First big trip for the kids, at 8 months, and first proper meetup with their grandparents! The flight was a bit of an adventure, due to flight cancellations, delays and wintry European weather, but we made it, and are having a good time :) The kids are enjoying themselves a lot, exploring a new place, and vying for attention from grandma and grandpa :) Very glad they get on :)

We hope to celebrate the new year with my parents in Donegal, but we're not sure we can get there, as the Irish roads are in a bad condition :( Hopefully Skype will be an alternative if we can't make it there safely :)
